Job SummaryWith limited input and using specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience, manages social media channels in support of firm objectives. Provides strategic direction, message development and communication planning to meet corporate brand and private client group objectives among the company's audiences. Develops and implements strategy for new and existing communication channels to increase awareness and support brand vision. Provides regular reporting to evaluate message readership/impact and refine best practices. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees the daily management of social media channelsLeverages multi-channel distribution, planning and reporting toolsProvides strategic direction, message development and communication planning for corporate level, cross-department, and departmental initiativesGives tactical support and oversees communication plansConsults with internal and external constituents to identify communications goals and objectives executes solutions for high-impact projects/initiativesBacks up management of other communication channels as neededParticipates in prioritization of firm communicationsEdits work of othersMonitors channel absorption prepares reports for managementFrom metrics and other data, recommends channel content alterations and improvementsManages implementation of channel communication projectsPerforms other communications duties and responsibilities as assignedEstablishes and maintains relationships with all levels of management, particularly within areas of supportEffectively represents firm values and communication principles within meetings
Qualifications
Knowledge of General communication strategies and tactics Concepts, principles, practices and techniques for writing and developing communications plans and related content Social media and website management best practices Investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry Financial markets and products Microsoft Outlook suite Publishing systemsSkill in Creating communications plans that blend attention to detail with flexibility and effective messaging Writing website and social media copy, articles and other collateral as required Proofreading copy written by others Conducting research and analysis Preparing presentations Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including standard graphics and publishing softwareAbility to Think logically, analyze and solve problems Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives Make independent decisions when appropriate Influence decision making and action when appropriate Manage confidential firm information prior to internal or public release Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed Incorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into communications plans while being an advocate for audiences and communications best practices Attend to detail while maintaining a big-picture orientation Gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to assignments Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment Provide a high level of customer service Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organizationEducational/Previous Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years' experience in marketing, communications or similar field, OR Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.Licenses/Certifications None Required.Raymond James Guiding BehaviorsAt Raymond James our associates use five guiding behaviors (Develop, Collaborate, Decide, Deliver, Improve) to deliver on the firms core values of client-first, integrity, independence and a conservative, long-term view.We expect our associates at all levels toAt Raymond James as part of our people-first culture, we honor, value, and respect the uniqueness, experiences, and backgrounds of all of our Associates.
