Role Overview
We are looking for a professional with a background in fixed income, especially securitized products, to join BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) team to assist clients with some of their most important capital markets and balance sheet challenges.
Overview of FMA
BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) team was created in 2008 in response to the formidable challenges faced by financial institutions, governments, regulators, and central banks during the financial crisis. FMA specializes in advising clients on critical financial issues, including bank stress testing, unwinding complex asset portfolios, designing and implementing bond purchase programs to bolster the economy, and other areas.
We engage directly with clients to address balance sheet and capital markets considerations as well as strategic, regulatory, and operational challenges.
Our team brings together advisory expertise and BlackRock's extensive capabilities in capital markets, data and analytics, technology, and financial modeling to deliver for clients. Recognizing the necessity for impartial and unbiased services, FMA operates as a separate and independent entity within BlackRock.
FMA has successfully completed over 500 assignments for more than 280 unique clients in 37 countries since its inception. Operating across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, we serve clients across all locations and time zone and is able to promptly support urgent needs. We assemble cross-disciplinary teams across offices to deliver optimal solutions for each clients unique situation.
What will you do on the team?
- In this role you will use capital markets and analytical skills to design, execute, review, and deliver analyses to clients, frequently using BlackRock's proprietary models and analytical platform.
- Candidates must be interested in financial markets and be able to apply creative solutions to solve client objectives and challenges. Team members will develop deeper subject matter expertise about relevant fixed income asset classes and understand key objectives for financial institutions.
- The ideal applicant will craft and execute analyses in support of a variety of client objectives. The role involves frequent interaction and engagement with FMA team members globally and with partner teams across the firm. We deploy the breadth and depth of BlackRock's capabilities to deliver success to our clients.
- The role requires keeping abreast of the evolving fixed income landscape, broad capital markets, and financial institutions trends.
- You will gain exposure to senior internal and external leaders on a range of complex financial topics and participate in client pitches, presentations, and deliverables. Team members work in multi-disciplinary teams on a diverse set of client engagements, encompassing subject matter authorities, engagement managers, and others.
- Candidates must perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment. Individuals frequently work across multiple projects and need to appropriately balance priorities accordingly.
Qualifications and Capabilities
- 1 4 years of fixed income experience familiarity with valuation and risk assessment of securitized products strongly preferred
- Knowledge of securitized product data sources, e.g., Bloomberg, Intex, Trepp a plus
- Experience with performing advanced analyses in Excel Python programming skills preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Comfort with constantly adapting and learning new skills as markets and client needs evolve able to navigate diverse projects.
- Interest in understanding financial institutions and broader capital markets.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong sense of initiative and ownership
