Major Duties
- Assists in the preparation of basic supporting calculations and documentation used in relevant tax filing obligations, as well as filings related to government required tax accounting disclosures. Ability to complete assigned tasks within the designated timeframe with good attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic research on tax issues as requested by higher level staff.
- Attends meetings with various internal and external partners and develops working relationships with those partners. Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms.
- Works to understand the processes used by the Corporate Tax Group and follows processes when completing assigned tasks.
- Gains familiarity with the tax technology software. Ability to use available software to efficiently complete assigned tasks, such as Excel and Word.
- Eagerness to learn through on the job training and coaching from higher level staff.
Knowledge
Basic knowledge of tax filing compliance and related concepts. Familiarity with tax research software as well as the hierarchy of tax law and tax law
interpretations/analysis.
Undergraduate degree in relevant field (accounting, finance, economics) required with 0 to 3 years of experience. MST or other advanced degree a plus. CPA certification a plus.
