What Youll Do
As an
Associate Underwriter
- Assess risk, liability and plan design.
- Captures and reviews appropriate information for support functions to ensure all information is reasonable, complete, and accurate. Analyzes data, makes corrections, and/or performs calculations. Processes and/or distributes information as needed.
- Acts as a technical resource for some niche processes by answering questions, assisting in recommending solutions and assisting other team members.
- Research and answer standard risk related questions, and provide information and recommendations to internal and external customers.
- Participates in special projects regarding operational issues, systems and/or processes. Assists with training of process changes.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as the need arises.
Who You Are
- College degree or 5+ years of related work experience.
- Group Life/DI Underwriting experience preferred.
- Provide timely, courteous and excellent service at an acceptable cost to all customers operate in an ethical manner in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, the companys Corporate Code of Ethics, employee handbook, applicable compliance and operations policies and procedures, and other policies of the company. Possess a high degree of integrity and actively cooperate and interact with all entities of Principal.
- Must have strong planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time management, decision-making, and oral and written communication skills, as well as general math skills.
- Digital literacy and knowledge of business unit applications preferred.
- Be able to maintain accuracy while being detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
- Travel may be required (5%), including overnight stays.
