The Private Credit business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world's largest alternative credit investing platforms with approximately $113bn of AUM and investment professionals based in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Private Credit business originates investments across senior secured loans, mezzanine/unsecured debt, preferred equity and opportunistic credit and invests both the firm's capital and capital raised from outside investors across a wide range of industries.
Responsibilities
- Support investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams for the private-side investing platforms)
- Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
- Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
- Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant Private Credit Investment Committees
- Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
- Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders
- Valuations
- Financial modeling
- Industry and company specific due diligence (research, management meetings, and investor presentations)
- Prepareand presentinvestment memos
- LBO modeling
- Legal documentation & negotiation
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Bachelors degree requiredMinimum of 2 years of Investment Banking or Principal Investing experience
- Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible and creative mindset ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
- Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
- Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
