Job Description

Position Summary

Ares Secondaries, formerly known as Landmark Partners, has pioneered and innovated within secondary markets across three decades and a range of alternative asset classes, including private equity, real estate and infrastructure. Over the course of our 30-year history in this space, we have invested across thousands of partnership interests, driving highly differentiated and proprietary transactions through our deeply established relationships with institutional investors, fund sponsors, and market advisors. Ares Secondaries has more than 150 professionals across six offices in New York, Boston, Dallas, London, Hong Kong, and Simsbury, Connecticut.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, researching industries and comparable companies, interviewing fund sponsors, and preparing financial models as part of an underwriting team
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on leveraged buyout, venture capital and other private equity limited partnership interests and their underlying company investments
  • Develop a network of contacts in the private equity industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and fund sponsor annual meetings
  • Prepare presentations to investors, firm partner group and counterparties
  • Support deal team in transaction management, including negotiations with sellers and execution of closings

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years' experience in investment banking, private equity or principal investing
  • Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leadership skills, and a strong record of academic achievement
  • Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams
  • Strong financial analysis, writing and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a finance or economics preferred

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
