Analyst, Non-Traditional
ABS Origination
What is the Opportunity?
- ABS banker responsible for supporting US ABS Origination transaction execution and assisting junior and senior ABS bankers with client coverage across Non-Traditional ABS asset classes
- Critical execution and ideas-generating role to drive continued growth of Non-Traditional ABS origination across new and existing clients and asset classes
What will you do?
- Support ABS bankers in creating, developing and presenting business ideas across Non-Traditional asset classes, taking lead in drafting initial versions of client presentations and pitch book materials and incorporating comments from junior and senior ABS bankers
- Coordinate transaction execution across third parties (issuers, lawyers, rating agencies, accountants, trustees, etc.), review offering and transaction documents, prepare sales memos and internal approval documents, amongst other responsibilities
- Interact with internal and external parties to ensure seamless execution on mandated transactions and coordinate the ultimate settlement of Non-Traditional ABS transactions.
- Collaborate with junior and senior ABS bankers and other internal parties on M&A and other strategic transactions where ABS is expected to play a role
- Maintain internal databases of market data, including spreads/yields, deal pricing details, trading data, league tables, etc.
- Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
What do you need to succeed?
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering or mathematics preferred but not required
- Series 7, 63 and 79 (will be required within a reasonable time after joining if not currently held)
Other Required Qualifications
- College graduate with history of strong academic performance
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

- Supports Non-Traditional ABS origination team within the broader ABS Origination and Global Spread Products businesses
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Provide critical support to senior ABS bankers for client coverage
- Regular coordination with ABS syndicate, ABS sales, ABS trading, ABS financing, Corporate Banking, Global Investment Banking and other internal stakeholders to deliver the best of RBC to our clients
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Comfortable and effective multitasking in a fast-paced and pressure-filled trading floor environment with competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong computer and analytical skills and attention to detail
- Hours are unpredictable and as needed
- Considerable attention to detail is required
- Team and position are based in New York some travel is expected

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 $130,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status market conditions and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and paid time-off plan.
