Position Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW
The opportunity is to support the Fund Controller on certain Funds based out of US. The Fund Structure is usually complex, mostly Hybrid PE style and will require an enthusiastic, hardworking individual willing to take on the challenge.
This role involves working closely with several departments within Apollo including investment and portfolio management team, valuation, pricing, operations, tax and marketing to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely information. It also involves dealing externally with Administrators, Auditors, Investors, Legal, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly and quarterly reporting working with Apollo operations & the administrator fund accounting team.
- Maintenance and review of full accounting records on Apollo system to reconcile back to administrator records working on Fund NAV and Investor level NAV.
- Preparation and review of Fund's Financial Statements as per US GAAP or IFRS.
- Preparation and Maintenance of the Investor Allocations.
- Calculation and invoicing of management fees and carried interest
- Calculation of monthly fund performance to meet GIPS requirements
- Assisting in the quarterly valuation process
- Fund budgeting and expense analysis
- Oversee external auditors and admin with regards to statutory fund audits
- Review, allocation and approval of invoices and expenses
- Working with Apollo colleagues across New York, India and London
- Liaising with current and prospective Fund Investors
- Ad Hoc Projects
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 - 5 years of experience (Non-CA 3 - 7 years of experience)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or Strong Accounting academics.
- Previous fund finance or fund administration experience must.
- Should have worked with complex financial products such as MBS, CDS, Bank Loans, etc.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Moderate with Excel
- Experience with general ledger accounting software a plus
- Individual must be diligent and work well in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Demonstrate ability in taking initiative
- A forward thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards
