About Product Strategy

Product Strategists serve as a link between portfolio managers and our clients globally. We work closely with portfolio managers and use our deep understanding of products and markets to make the investment process more relatable to our clients.

Our Product Strategy team in Gurgaon serves as the innovation hub of the team's production of timely and effective marketing materials, portfolio analytics and business intelligence. In addition to servicing existing clients, product strategists have an opportunity to help drive new business and assist the firm with achieving its commercial objectives.

This Product Strategist hire will be an integral part of the FIG (Financial Institutions Group) PMG (Portfolio Management Group) team. The FIG PMG team manage bespoke on balance sheet mandates for Insurance and banking client globally with a focus on liquid fixed income, but with capabilities across all investment asset classes

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to client reporting, generating the data and materials incorporated into the Team's regular reporting. This includes information relating to portfolio strategy, positioning, and performance attribution, as well as contributing to market reviews and outlooks
  • Production and update of standard collateral and presentations to support our client communication, while proactively engaging with other BlackRock teams to ensure smooth interaction between Portfolio Management and Client Business teams
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise by handling complex ad-hoc client requests, both quantitative and qualitative, in relation to the impact of the financial market developments on their portfolio performance and positioning
  • Take on projects which facilitate portfolio management capabilities of the team on an ad-hoc basis
  • Be accountable for the quality and timeliness of the content provided by the team
  • Use technology to drive efficiency gains and improving collaboration among Product Strategy teams to enhance overall operational effectiveness
  • Build familiarity with Fixed Income product offering and key portfolio metrics represent the team on internal forums, seek alignments with other functions
  • Stay informed of regulatory and other structural changes and make sure that both new and existing products meet regulatory standards.

You should have

  • Python, MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, are essential skills for this position.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Tableau or Power BI are a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, additional fluency in other European language(s) desirable
  • Prior experience in a role that required knowledge of Fixed Income markets and products. Insurance industry specific knowledge a plus
  • A good understanding of Fixed Income markets and products
  • Keen interest in global financial markets be up to date on macro events and market trends
  • Desire to learn about the investment management industry
  • Strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency around deadlines and an ability to multitask
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude supported by the ability to effectively combine outputs from various sources of technology/systems
  • CFA, FRM or CAIA preferred, or desire to pursue.
