Overview

BlackRock Solutions (BRS) is uniquely positioned to address the industry's risk management, portfolio construction and financial technology demands. The various business departments within BRS are focused on providing clients with customized solutions powered by Aladdin, BlackRock's proprietary risk management system, to their most complex capital market driven and investment related challenges within the ambit of portfolio analytics & risk management, liability-driven investing & pension solutions, and regulatory advice & balance sheet strategy.

The Analyst will join Client Delivery and Execution team within Aladdin Wealth Tech in Gurgaon for funds as a product function. This team is responsible for modeling and maintaining fund risk analytics within Aladdin and for funds held by our Wealth clients in addition to generating fund and client specific factor-based insights. We leverage BRS risk models and bespoke methodologies to generate risk for funds globally.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and deliver risk analytics to the clients for a large part of the Mutual Fund and ETF universe across the globe.

Continuously streamline and automate the funds data management and risk generation process through production and engineering improvements.

Development and maintenance of scripts in R or Python for data analysis as part of research or ongoing projects.

Provide ongoing development maintenance of existing application functionality, working closely with the client support teams to address issues that are escalated for resolution.

Engage, co-ordinate within a global team on multiple projects in a continuously evolving business environment.

Follow the Global markets and perform ad-hoc analysis to capture impact of major market events on client portfolios' risks and investment decisions.

Qualifications

Outstanding academic achievement Undergraduate/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Business Management or equivalent.

FRM or CFA designation or other industry certifications (or are working towards one) is a plus.

Strong hands-on experience in Unix, SQL and Power BI would be an added advantage.

Strong inclination and progress towards learning and implementing newer technologies like Python and R.

Skills/ Requirements

Industry Related Competencies

0-1 years of work experience in similar role.

Strong knowledge of portfolio risk and portfolios management concepts.

Deep understanding of multi-asset portfolios and their pricing and risk characteristics.

In depth understanding of products like Mutual funds and ETFs, different portfolio strategies across asset classes like equity, fixed income, allocation, commodity, alternatives, etc. Sound understanding of financial concepts for different instruments across equity/Fixed income/ Commodity/ Derivatives, etc.

Any experience in wealth management and portfolio management services role will be an added advantage.

Soft Skills

Good Spoken and Written Communication skills to enable working with teams in multioffice, multi-country environment across several time zones.

Deliver high level of service through responsiveness and accuracy & has an eye for detail.

Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design and articulate solutions and implement change.

Enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
