RQA-ERM Operational Risk
The Operational Risk team within Enterprise Risk is responsible for all aspects of operational risk, including error investigation and resolution, new product and business change risk assessments, risk reporting / analysis, leading risk reducing projects and the maintenance of the operational risk framework, including facilitation of risk and control self-assessments.
Key Responsibilities
As an Analyst/Associate in the RQA Enterprise Risk function, you will be part of a newly formed Incident Response team in Gurgaon.The team is part of the global Enterprise Risk team and operates in a fast-paced environment involving frequent interactions with global first line business leaders. The newly formed team will support the firm's operational risk framework by fulfilling the following key responsibilities
- .This includes guiding first line management on appropriate steps to close exposures created by errors.
- Serve as a first point of contact for all operating events reported by all BlackRock business lines
- Manage operating event investigation from beginning to end root cause analysis, validating impact, reporting to senior stakeholders, and influencing accountability for process improvements.
- Use the firm's rich operating data, KPIs and incident data to hypothesize, analyze, monitor, report, and escalate trends in the operating environment.
- Define the operating event workflow for the firm, drive efficiency, improve user experience and lead projects to enhance the Enterprise Risk systems.
- Lead in the development, maintenance, and execution of firmwide operational risk training
- Prepare risk reports and analysis to support management & business in fulfilling their oversight responsibilities
Skills/Experience
- A degree inBusiness, Finance or Risk Management-related field
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and running multiple high priority tasks with senior management visibility.
- 2-6 years of enterprise and operational risk management-related experience, preferably in financial services

- An understanding of the fundamental principles of operational risk management, includingerror investigation and resolution, risk assessments, risk reporting and analysis and the necessity to react quickly
- An ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms and experience using effective communication, written and verbal, to influence outcomes
- Strong interpersonal skills, writing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate with all levels across the organization and across different time zones
- Strong analytical skills to identify emerging risks, summarize issues and explain risk trends
- Conflict resolution and confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders
- Programming (SQL, Python, etc.) and/or data visualization expertise, preferred but not required
- Understanding of financial market instruments and Trade & Product Lifecycle would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Aladdin is a plus
