This Application Engineering Chapter Lead role will be part of DAPs Cross Offer Experience family, which enables the onboarding of clients from other offers/platforms. The team this AECL will be supporting owns a portfolio of products that onboard IIG participants onto DAP. We recently partnered with the IIG business to onboard Google plan participants and are currently working on a capability that would allow Plan Sponsors to enable advice as the default investment alternative for plan participants. The products the team supports are largely Lambdas written in Node or Java, though we do have a UI product as well, written in Angular.
What you will do
- Inspire, grow, and manage your group of developers through peer-coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Practice and execute leadership responsibilities including but not limited to 11 with direct reports, performance reviews, ECP reviews, right starts, hiring for teams, recruiting, and retaining strong talent.
- Spend about 60% hands on coding and 40% people management (This is not hard and can change based on team requirements with either side never reaching 0%)
- Work closely with and influence agile teams, product owners, stakeholders, and DAP product families to ensure we deliver world-class advice features and capabilities for our clients.
- Advocate and advance chapter standards and best practices in collaboration with another chapter leads and chapters.
- Participate and drive outcomes in department level initiatives and OKRs through family metrics, ziggurats, sourcing and so on.
Who you are
- You care about developing and growing people to bring out the best in them.
- You are experienced in leading, coaching, and mentoring development teams with a proven track record of delivering software.
- You have solid experience working in a fast paced, agile development environment.
- You have 5+ years of software development experience, in multiple languages / stacks, testing, test automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools and pipelines.
- You are interested in new trends in software development and technologies.
Qualifications
- A passion for building software is required.
- Experience with AWS, specifically lambdas written in NodeJS, Java
- Experience building modern UIs using Angular 9 and TypeScript
- Experience with bitbucket, bamboo CI/CD pipeline tools
- Problem-solver, and a player coach mentality is highly desirable.
- Experience in coaching (formal/informal)
