What is the opportunity?

Your responsibilities within the Tax Operations & Reporting team would be supporting key day-to-day operational processes and controls covering documentation, withholding, and reporting as part of Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) / QI Wealth Management International Compliance Program and Canadian Tax day-to-day processes and controls.

What will you do?

  • Assist the team with reviewing US and Canadian tax forms for validity and reasonableness to ensure US and non-US clients are correctly documented.
  • Support counterparty (Agent Network and Hedge Fund) requests for RBC FATCA/QI documentation.
  • Prioritise inputting data captured in tax forms into systems. Ensuring accuracy of data capture and checking against client records maintained in other systems.
  • Assist W8 expiry and renewals process, liaising directly with Relationship Managers and promoting a Client/RM First culture around outreach.
  • Lead mandatory and daily control reports that manage risks of incorrect withholding, addressing identified issues/errors in a timely manner.
  • Support the Tax Operations & Reporting Manager with any activities required to prepare annual regulatory reporting for WMI QI legal entities.

  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of competency in Excel
  • Sound risk management and judgement

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
